Barry had three brothers with whom he grew up namely Byron Larkin who was a second-team All-American basketball player at Xavier University and is the color commentator on Xavier basketball radio broadcasts, Stephen Larkin who happens to be a professional baseball player and Michael Larkin who is the eldest brother, was a captain of the University of Notre Dame’s football team in 1985.The three brothers were raised in a Catholic home by caring and loving parents.

His number “11” was later retired by the Reds in his honor. After the 2004 season, Barry Larkin retired, and he was named an All-Star in his final year in the big leagues, with a massive achievement score of 295 career average, 2,340 hits, 1,329 runs, and 379 stolen bases.
