Dan began his broadcasting career as a sportscaster in the mid-1980s, not long after earning his degree from the University of Florida. This came about after he was hired by First Coast WTLV/WJXX to work as an evening anchor and sports director. Between 1986 and 2013, he also put in nearly three decades of effort for First Coast.
Dan departed his position as a sportscaster when his contract with WTLV expired in May 2013 because they could not come to an agreement on the conditions of the new agreement.
