Goff knew that he wanted to become a radio host at the age of 11. His parents used to listen to talk radio-sports, societal, and political. He loved how the radio hosts managed to reach their listeners. As a teenager, he became more inclined to the idea of a sports radio host. He was not an athlete himself but was very much into sports especially football and basketball.
He earned the name, Jason from Evanston because of his regular habit of calling The Score radio show. He moved on to ask for an internship at the radion but his request was turned down stating that they only gave such chances to college credits. He was eager to start his career after one year of college.
He asked The Scofr for an internship again. This time, he succeeded and he left SIU to start working. He was fully hired full-time by the same station in 2000 after his internship. He served for The Score for 12 years before moving to Atlanta where he joined WZGC FM sports radio as a host.
