Jay’s television career started in 1998, at WJRD in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. later from 1999 to 2001, he worked at WTOC in savanna, Georgia. in 2002 He stopped working at WTOC when he joined WPTV and still working there to date.
He has won Man Association press awards together with fourteen nominations for Emmy Awards most of which he earned through his stories that focused on Ocean and environment conservation all this was earned through his career as a journalist.
In Jay’s life, he has covered a wide range of stories. In January 2010, Hours after the disastrous earthquake, he was the first reporter to hit the road in Haiti hours and also in the same year when the devastating Gulf oil spill, He was on the white-sand beaches of the Florida panhandle.
He also covered extensively the 2004 and 2005 hurricanes in South Florida. He also covered the most personal story of his career when he traveled back home to assist his family in digging out and recovering after Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005.
Nevertheless, he has also been involved with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach county food and wine Festival where he met, and the South Florida Fair.
