Khambrel Marshall is an American broadcast journalist and meteorologist who is currently based in Sugar Land, Texas working at KPRC Local 2 channel as a meteorologist.

He won the prestigious Emmy award, for a feature series titled “Guardians at Sea.” chronicling the U.S. Coast Guard’s efforts to rescue Cuban and Haitian refugees crossing the Florida Straits.

Khambrel has received the National Community Service Award from the Westinghouse Corporation. The Fort Lauderdale Jaycees named him “Outstanding Young Floridian’ for his humanitarian efforts in the wake of Hurricane Andrew.

In addition, he had served as the Chairman of the Executive Committee of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Texas. Currently, he is on the Board of Directors of the A.D. Players at the George Theater and as well a Chair of the Board of the YMCA of Greater Houston, the largest childcare provider in the Houston region and the fourth-largest YMCA in the United States.

As a senior in college, he landed his first job at the CBS affiliate in Phoenix as a sportscaster. There, he spent around 18 years at stations in Detroit; Hartford, Conn.; and Miami, covering sports.

In 1992 when Hurricane Andrew ravaged most of Florida, is when Marshall stepped in as a news anchor. Due to his good job, he was given a permanent role by the station. He was taken to Houston as an anchor on Channel 2 in 1999. Later on, he was taken off the air in 2005.
