Lou Dobbs is an American author, political analyst, and the former host of Lou Dobbs Tonight on television. From 2003 to 2009 and again from 2011 until 2021, he served as the show’s inaugural host. Dobbs joined CNN in 1980 as a correspondent and vice president of the organization.
Lou hosted Moneyline on television and served as managing editor. Moneyline was changed to Lou Dobbs Tonight in 2003. Dobbs departed CNN in 1999 before returning to the organization in 2003.
He left CNN once more in November 2009 and started hosting a talk program on Lou Dobbs Radio. From 2011 until the show’s discontinuation in February 2021, Dobbs served as Lou Dobbs Tonight’s host on the Fox Business Network.

Who replaced Lou Dobbs?
