Rich Lowry on Mueller report

The world doesn’t need any more of Robert Mueller’s opinions, but Congress is determined to have him speak in front of the public. It’s not like we don’t already have the special counsel’s account of what happened.

Rich used significant investigative resources, spent two years writing a 400-page report that is publicly available, and it is likely that the study was carefully written (albeit perhaps not necessarily carefully thought through).

That ought to be enough for Mueller to work with and for Congress to decide whether to impeach or not, as well as how else to handle the situation. He frequently contributes to Left, Right & Center on KCRW, Left, Right & Center on CNN, and Hannity as a guest host.

Pat Buchanan, Eleanor Clift, Mort Zuckerman, and Lowry were regular panelist guests on the venerable PBS program The McLaughlin Group. Rich also participates on panels from time to time on Sunday programs including NBC’s Meet the Press and ABC’s “This Week.”

Instead, Mueller will be pushed to go farther with his already comprehensive report, which not only flouted Justice Department rules but also flipped the long-established burden of evidence in the Anglo-American judicial system.

Rich Lowry Amazon

Rich, the editor of National Review and a New York Times bestselling author, follows Abraham Lincoln’s ambitious rise from a small-town upstart to a political juggernaut in his smart history and politics book Lincoln Unbound.

President Lincoln, who is revered on all political sides, supported a small but active government in a country where aspiration was the driving force.

He assumed that the incredible transportation and communications revolutions were only getting started. He played a role in developing the contemporary industrial economy.

Abraham Lincoln’s dream of a society with upward mobility that encourages and rewards personal achievement was marvelously achieved. It is now in danger.
