Roger Howarth Career
In 2017, talent scouts discovered Howarth during a talent search and hired him to play the role of Kent Winslow on the ABC daytime drama Loving, but the role was short-term. Not long after this, casting directors hired him to play on the ABC daytime television soap opera One Life to Live. As the rapist, Todd Manning in what was to be a day player role but instead became one of the most popular and long-lasting characters on serial kidney.
The press has nominated the character as an icon. Howarth has portrayed Todd on and off since 1992. Critics explosively hailed him for his performance on the show, and he won a Daytime Emmy Award in 1994 for the role. Later attempts to reform Todd still unnerved Howarth.
He returned later, but the character of Todd appeared more as a villain instead of an idol. His super couple pairing with Kassie Depaiva’s Blair Cramer won over suckers, and the two latterly became a couple. By this time, Howarth managed to find time to extend his career into primetime and was cast as the homicidal Randall Lynch in four episodes of the sci-fi horror series Prey.
Howarth left One Life to Live in 1998 in search of another time, allowing him to pursue other acting systems in Broadway and Hollywood. His first Broadway debut was with The White Rose, although he had done some theatre work in Henry IV, heartstrings, You Touched Me, Mother Courage, and Orestes. One notable stage performance that Howarth did was with the Broadway product of James Goldman, The Lion In Winter.
