Who is Roland Martin?
Roland Martin is a well-known American journalist who was a commentator for TV One, the host of News One Now, and Washington on Watch With Roland S. Martin. In addition, Martin was also a CNN contributor, appearing on a variety of shows, including The Situation Room, Anderson Cooper’s AC360, and many others. He joined the Tom Joyner Morning Show as a senior analyst in 2008.

Roland Martin Education
Martin was in Jack Yates High School when he discovered his passion for communication. He was part of the magnet program in Communications at the school. He later joined Texas A&M University to study Journalism in 1987. In college, he worked for the Bryan-College Station Eagle and KBTX station channel 3.
In addition, he also attended the National Association of Black Journalists convention. Later on, he received a master’s degree in Christian Communications from Louisiana Baptist University. Furthermore, he has also received honorary degrees from Florida Memorial University and the University of Maryland. Furthermore, Martin hosted a three-hour radio show called The Roland Martin Show. He also currently hosts a web series, Roland Martin Unfiltered on YouTube.

From 2007 to 2013, Martin hosted a morning radio talks show on WVON in Chicago and was with CNN as a contributor.
Later, in 2009, he became the host of TV One’s first Sunday News show Washington Watch with Roland Martin. The program ran for 4 years and is currently off the air. In addition, Martin announced on Twitter that he was leaving CNN in March 2013. He last appeared on April 6th, 2013.
