Sean Tuohy is a sports analyst and restaurant owner from the United States who was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He was a college basketball player for the University of Mississippi in the 1980s and is renowned for holding the Southeastern Conference’s (SEC) record for most assists.
The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game, written by Michael Lewis in 2006, and its 2009 feature film version, The Blind Side, starring Tim McGraw as Tuohy, are both about Tuohy’s wife Leigh Anne and his family.
His upbringing of National Football League (NFL) player Michael Oher, who competed in the NFL from 2009 to 2016, is the subject of the book and accompanying movie.

In 1981, Tuohy guided the Ole Miss Rebels to the SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament title. Tuohy played four seasons at Ole Miss and was recognized as All-SEC each year.
He was selected for the All-Century SEC team and is the first basketball player in SEC history to have a four-year streak of statistical dominance, as he did in assists.
With 260 assists in a single season, Tuohy owns the Southeastern Conference record. The only other basketball player to be inducted into the Ole Miss Sports Hall of Fame is Tuohy.
