American television journalist Shepard Smith hosted The News with Shepard Smith, a daily evening newscast that debuted on CNBC in late September 2020 as the lead general news anchor. His show was canceled in November 2022.

Smith is most known for his 23-year tenure at Fox News Channel, where he served as managing editor of the breaking news division and chief anchor during the channel’s founding in 1996.

During his time at Fox News, Smith presented a number of shows, including Fox Report, Studio B, and Shepard Smith Reporting.

After working at WCJB-TV in Gainesville, Florida, and WJHG-TV in Panama City Beach, Florida, Smith started his career in television.

Smith started working as a correspondent for A Current Affair after holding reporting positions at WBBH-TV in Fort Myers, WSVN in Miami, and WCPX-TV (now WKMG-TV) in Orlando.

Smith joined Fox News Channel in 1996 after serving as a journalist for Fox affiliate news outlet News Edge. Fox News anchor Shepard, a regular target of President Trump’s criticism, resigned on October 11 following an altercation with a few of the network’s primetime stars. Shepard claimed that he just requested permission from the business to leave FOX News and start a new chapter.

They gladly allowed him to stay after they had asked for it. The possibilities provided to this Mississippi small-town native, according to Smith, have been numerous.
